In a recent survey of graduates, teachers were by far the number one thing our graduates loved about Bellingham Christian School.  Indeed, our Christian teachers are the strength of BCS.  All our teachers are mature Christians who love the Lord and children.  Each teacher is certified and continues to build his or her skills through continuing education and supervision.  It's our priority.

Curriculum

The Bellingham Christian School curriculum has been successful in building strong foundational academic skills with our students.  Each year our SAT scores are well above the average school-wide.  As last year scores again confirmed, our students scored in the upper 25th percentile.  A recent survey of graduates shows the strength of our curriculum and teachers.  Our respondents overwhelming reported that their freshman year in high school was easy and that they felt well prepared. 

We utilize the Abeka (A Christian publisher) materials at our lower grades for all subjects except in science we use Bob Jones another Christian publisher.  Bringing life to the curriculum is important, and all our teachers supplement these materials.  At our older grades we use a combination of Abeka, Bob Jones, and Glenco math.  For literature, we begin in fourth grade and continue through eighth grade with a literature based reading program. 

Subject areas include Bible, reading, writing, spelling, math, science,  history, PE, technology and music.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in after school athletics, chess club and academic competetions.
